One of my favorite weekend getaways is Joshua Tree National Park. A lot of LA residents have also made Joshua Tree their second home. It’s definitely a place where you feel like you’ve gotten far away enough without having to go too far because it feels so other-worldly. It’s also like a giant playground and you can climb and scramble all over everything to your heart’s content. It is one of the national parks that I get to visit several times a year.

It’s also a place to be mindful and a lot of the LA spiritual influence has found a safe haven to flourish here. One of the must-dos while in the area is to book a sound bath at the Integratron. What is a sound bath? It’s been likened to “kindergarten naptime for grown ups in a sound sphere.” It’s one of those experiences that’s better the less you know about it going into it. But, the ultimate goal is to de-stress and rejuvenate.
The Integratron structure itself is acoustically built so that the sound bath that what you will experience is like a massage for your soul. You will be in a meditative, blissful state during and after the sound bath. The history behind it is even more interesting and involves and alien launch pad near a Giant Rock not too far from the building.

Good to Know:
- Because we are 80% water, our bodies are amazing at conducting sound. In order to feel the effects of the sound bath even more make sure you are hydrated.
